If you are willing to import panels, pay any tariffs or fees associated and distribute them. You must have an electrical engineering background, or are you planning on employing someone else to install them?
The panels aren't the only components you will need to import. You will also need an inverter and you will need to get your hands on basic electricians equipment (DC cabling, isolater switch etc.) Then there is the bracketing to worry about and the installation. Where are you? Do you require marine grade equipment, eg, is geothermal activity high in your area or are you near the sea?
What is your roof made out of? Do you require pitching rails?
I'm getting ahead of myself now my point is this, if you want to do it yourself, you are dealing with a volatile form of electricity and I have heard some shocking DIY stories so be careful. My advice would be to speak to a solar company in your area and ask about their wholesale prices. Importers take a pretty slim cut as they supply construction, marketing and electrical companies and set out to beat other importers on price.
By the time you get the things on your roof you may be getting up around retail prices anyway. But if you are dead set on importing these panels yourself PM me and I will sort out some info for you on NZ standards along with a couple of importers and a couple of suppliers.
